JOB TITLE: eSports Instructor

POSITION: Seasonal/ Part-time


SITE: Multi-location


REPORTS TO:

Donovan McKinney (Supervisor)

Roy Gonzalez (Supervisor)

Delia Luna (Program Coordinator) 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead structured esports sessions with students across a variety of competitive titles, including Super Smash Brothers, Valorant, Marvel Rivals, NBA 2K, Overwatch, FGC, Rocket League, and other competitive games.

  • Teach game play mechanics, workshops, strategies, and teamwork fundamentals tailored to both casual and competitive environments.

  • Foster a positive, inclusive learning atmosphere that emphasizes sportsmanship, discipline, and collaboration.

  • Guide students in developing critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills through esports.

  • Assist in setting up, supervising, and running tournaments, scrimmages, and esports-related events.

  • Stay up to date with the latest esports industry trends, competitive updates, and emerging games.

  • Ability to use and understand Discord

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with competitive gaming, especially in titles such as Super Smash Brothers, Valorant, Marvel Rivals, FGC, Overwatch 2, Minecraft, Rocket League,and NBA 2K.

  • Background in coaching, mentoring, or teaching youth is preferred.

  • **Excellent communication** and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and inspire students.

  • Ability to adapt lessons and strategies for different skill levels and group sizes.

  • Passion for esports.

  • Must be up to date with current Esports Meta

Preferred Skills

  • Event set up and experience supporting gaming tournaments.

  • Familiarity with streaming platforms, gaming hardware/software setups, and esports production tools. (Discord, Youtube, OBS, Game Capture Cards)

  • Background in instructional experience, education, or coaching.

  • The ideal candidate is well-presented, respectful, and demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Seeking a dependable and punctual team member with a strong sense of responsibility.

  • Able to keep Professionalism and boundary between staff and students


EDUCATIONAL REQUIRMENTS:

  1. Some community college or higher
  2. Bilingual preferred. Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking. Spanish preferred.
  3. All NCRF employees/contractors shall undergo a criminal background check, including a fingerprint check by the State and/or FBI

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, lift, carry, move about, hear and speak. Employees will be required to perform extensive work at a television screen and/or computer screen. Employees must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25lbs to 50lbs



Pay Range:

   $18.50 - $19.50 per hour
