Position Details
- Commitment: 20–25 hours per week (hours may vary based on program needs)
- Schedule: Flexible, with required attendance during weekday summer camps
- Compensation: $19-$23/hour
- Location: Primarily in-person at corporate office in Walnut, CA or camp sites in Long Beach, and Pomona, CA
- Employment Status: Part time
About the Position
The National College Resources Foundation is seeking energetic, dependable, and community-minded candidates to support our STEAM program. This role is ideal for college students or emerging professionals interested in education, youth development, and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) programming. It offers hands-on experience assisting with engaging educational activities designed to inspire underserved and underrepresented middle and high school students through interactive learning experiences, team projects, and mentorship.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the setup, facilitation, and breakdown of STEAM activities
- Support instructors and students during workshops, demonstrations, and group projects
- Help manage daily logistics, including attendance, supplies, and classroom organization
- Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for all participants
- Document student experiences through photos, videos, and written reflections
- Encourage student engagement and participation during activities and team challenges
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and program evaluations
- Contribute creative ideas for activities, student engagement, and improvements
Qualifications
- Passion for education, youth empowerment, and/or STEAM-related fields
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable, adaptable, and able to work in fast-paced environments
- Comfortable working with middle and high school students
- Ability to take initiative and follow directions independently
- Minimum GPA of 2.5
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Reliable transportation required
Additional Requirements
- Satisfactory criminal background and fingerprint clearance
- Negative TB test
